MiPHY

It has come to our attention that there are some concerns about students in grades 7, 9, and 11 recently taking the MiPHY Survey.  The MiPHY Survey is a voluntary, anonymous student survey developed by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and is given by schools across our county.  The survey is designed to assess risky behaviors and questions are aligned to the content that is covered in our Health Education classes.  The survey is given on a biannual basis.  The last time we gave the survey was in March 2020 but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were unable to give the survey to all grade levels.  Our intent is to use the results of the survey to help students make better decisions and avoid risky behaviors in the future.  Again, this survey is anonymous and voluntary and data is used to help our students make better decisions.

The survey is produced by the State of Michigan and helps all public schools and ISDs gauge the level of services needed and provided such as social work, school psychologists, and so on. The survey is voluntary and anonymous and the data helps the State with funding for those services as well. Millington Jr/Sr High School was awarded a grant for the creation of videos and other media that will help us communicate with families about the results of the survey.  Attached is a question and answer document about the survey if you would like more information.
