Dear Millington Community Schools Staff, Students, and Community,

I am writing to welcome you back to the 2025-2026 School Year and to share some information about myself. I have been a member of our school community over the past twenty-three school years and have been honored to serve the district in the capacity of superintendent, principal, teacher, and coach. This is my fourth year serving as superintendent of Millington Community Schools. I have always felt very fortunate to be a part of our community and I have always been proud to send my own children to Millington Community Schools.

One of the things about Millington Community Schools that I am most proud of is the fact that we offer our students a wide variety of programs and services considering that we are a small school district. We have a very caring and dedicated staff who work very hard to maintain the programs we already have, but also create new experiences for our students. Last year, the Millington Cardinals won the Division 7 Football State Championship and we won district titles in volleyball, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, baseball, and softball. Both of our buildings continue to be staffed with a behavior interventionist and a social worker and our staff K-12 is continuing to revive our CARDS Program. Paxton, our emotional support dog at Millington Jr/Sr High School, is excited to come back to work this fall because he missed all of the students over summer break. Our staff has always done a nice job meeting the needs of our students; this is evidenced by the fact that the graduation rate at Millington Jr/Sr High School continues to be one of highest in the state at over 93%. During the upcoming school year, all students K-12 will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch. The MCS staff is also working to improve teaching and learning conditions. Class sizes in Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades will be under twenty this year. The Meachum Chiller Unit Project is nearing completion, so students K-12 will learn in a more comfortable environment than ever before. Our team is also working to bolster school safety by partnering with Serenus Johnson Construction to build a safe and secure front office at Millington Jr/Sr High School. Future generations of staff and students will learn in a safer environment as a result of the addition of the front office.

Over the summer, our staff has been working hard to prepare for the 2025-2026 School Year and I am confident that our team will rise to the challenge of meeting the needs of our students. My goals for the upcoming school year are to continue to build positive relationships with the community, to improve communication, and to continue to find ways to be more efficient in our daily operations. I am excited for the start of the upcoming school year and I hope you are too. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is ever anything I can do to help you out in the future.

Yours truly,

Steve Bouvy, Superintendent
