At last evening's school board meeting, Tim Roberts, co-owner of Great Lakes Sportswear Company, presented school superintendent Steve Bouvy and board president Casey Hendricks with a check in the amount of $7,079.82. The money being donated to the district is the proceeds the company made from a recent spirit wear sale to school employees.
Millington Community Schools will use the donation to allow all students of Millington Community Schools free admittance to all home athletic contests for the duration of the 2023-2024 school year.
The Great Lakes Sportswear Company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Great Lakes Management Company. What it really is, though, is a way for owners Aaron Chamberlain and Tim Roberts to serve the greater uniform and apparel industry, just as they have with their other ventures - Great Lakes Bat Company and Great Lakes Golf Company.
